Some amazing scoring has heralded the opening of the 2015 representative trials season with the annual 36 hole Roxburgh open played on Saturday 22nd August.
Nick Borren held on after an amazing 58 in round one, adding a 69 in the
afternoon to finish a total of 9 under par for the tournament. Borren took the title from a strong finishing Matt Tautari.
Tautari, Southlands best player for the last couple of months did his best to take back to back titles after winning the Otago foursomes with Michael Ormandy. A closing round of 60 left him 1 short after giving Nick Borren a 10 shot lead at lunch time.
Chris Snow showed he was back to his best with rounds of 66 and 63 to finish 3rd and Andrew Hobbs put his hand back up for selection for the Otago Masters team finishing 6 under.
