Selection criteria for Otago representative teams is being tweaked to bring it into line with NZ Golf’ and other Districts selection policies.

The revised program will encompass the whole of 2019, rather than focusing on a handful of events crammed into a “trials calendar” that has, in the past, been fitted into the months of August to November.

The selection criteria applies to Men’s Senior and Masters, Age Group and Women’s teams.

The Women currently don’t have a separate Order of Merit, but several of the Men’s and all Junior Bridgestone Order of Merit events have Women’s sections. Along with other significant Women’s tournaments, these will form the basis of the selection for Women’s teams.

Full Golf Otago Men’s & Women’s calendars, along with Bridgestone Order of Merit calendars, will be posted under the “Events Calendar” section of this website before New Year.

The aim for the Selectors remains the same as it has always been.  To select the best team available for any given rep fixture.

Players who wish to be considered for any Otago representative team should complete the   “2019 Rep Player Registration Form” and return it to the Executive Officer at Golf Otago, or the Golf Development Officer at Sport Otago.  This can be done at any time, but obviously the Selectors need to know who is available for selection, so registering your intentions is an important first step.

The selection criteria, Bridgestone OoM calendars (Senior & Junior), plus other relevant documents, are avalailable to download here:
