The Central Otago Championships were held Saturday 27th March at the Queenstown Golf Club. The event attracted a range of players from the wider Otago area and Southland, with about 60 in the field.

Liam Hewitt (Queens Park) a Southland representative took the days honors with two solid rounds of 71 to give him an overall total of 142 2 under par. He was closely followed by Inia Logan and Josh Bailey with 143 1 under, and a further shot back was on par for the day was Henry Hodgson.
Along with the Central Otago Champs, the Otago Age Group Championships were also being played in the same tournament. With the U19 and U16 performed players receiving trophies.
Parker Aluesi was the U19 champ with a score of 146 2 over, and the U16 champ Sumin Kang with a score of 147 1 over off the ladies tees.
Congratulations to all the winners and participants of the event.
Thank you to Queenstown Golf Club for giving up their course and Central Otago Association for running a terrific event.
